How Does it Work?

Matrix Toll Manufacturing patented friction reducer product works by reducing the friction between fluid and pipe surfaces in hydraulic fracturing operations, allowing for smoother, faster, and more efficient fluid flow. Its advanced formulation contains long-chain polymers that, when activated, unfold in the fluid to create a slippery layer along the pipe's interior. This significantly decreases the resistance typically encountered during high-pressure pumping operations. Moreover, ENVIRO FR 2.25’s instant hydration capability means it integrates quickly into the fluid, achieving a homogeneous mixture almost immediately. This instant action not only saves valuable time but also ensures a consistent and reliable delivery of the fracturing fluid, culminating in a more effective fracturing process and improved well performance.

Using our state-of-the-art manufacturing process combined with Nano Surfactant Technology, our finished product (see above at right) is environmentally and shale formation- friendly. Enviro FR 2.25 is a free-flowing, easy-to-use friction reducer.

When mixed with water, it dissolves rapidly, leaving no clumps just a clear, uniform solution ready for immediate use. This swift action reduces preparation time, boosts efficiency, and ensures a seamless fracturing process, getting operations up and running without delay.

FLUID DYNAMICS

Our goal with friction reducers like ENVIRO FR 2.25 is to achieve a laminar flow* that smoothly carries a mix of sand and water. We target fluid velocities ranging from 65 to 105 Feet Per Second (FPS), significantly exceeding the typical pipe design velocities of 4 to 8 FPS used in project engineering. The smoother the flow we can maintain, the greater the volume of proppant (sand) and water that can be transported to the intended fracture zones. Ultimately, our aim is to maximize the quantity of proppant deposited into the fractures rapidly, enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the hydraulic fracturing process.

*Laminar flow is characterized by smooth and orderly fluid motion in parallel layers, with little to no mixing be tween them, resulting in minimal resistance.
